Gran Teatre de Liceu

The 2nd ESO students have visited Barcelona’s opera house, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, on 16th January. First of all, we could admire the main hall, inspired by the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Thanks to the shape of a horseshoe, the hall has outstanding acoustics. It is one of the largest opera houses in Europe: seating capacity goes beyond 2000. We also visited the Hall of Mirrors (Saló dels Miralls), that was rescued from the fire that happened in 1994, so the original atmosphere of the Liceu survives today. Finally, we entered The Foyer, where we watched a great video about opera and the different jobs related to it. We are looking forward to enjoying an opera there!
